Kwok Mang Ho (Hong Kong)
Now a renowned artist in Hong Kong, Kwok Mang Ho used to teach industrial design. He lived and worked in New York for 10 years. His works are known for the usage of Chinese characters, frog images and ink. Collectors include museums and galleries of Hong Kong, the US, Japan and Korea. He pulled out a string of plastic bags at the Great Wall in 1979 at the very beginning of the Chinese economic reform, making himself among the first group of overseas artists that went to Mainland China for artistic and cultural communication. "Frog King" was selected to represent Hong Kong and take part in the 54th Venice Biennale in 2011. He has been exhibiting at Art Basel HK since 2013.
